He is a killing machine, pure and simple. He possesses massive strength, able to lift a large van as easily as one can lift a small child. He has the eerie ability to sneak up on anyone, if they aren't careful.
He is incredibly resilient, able to withstand excruciating punishment, as well as fatal blows. If his body is mortally wounded, Grendel can regenerate, and continue his malicious mission.
It seems that he lacks a conscious, which is why he commits such ghastly and atrocious murders. His very body is a weapon. On his right hand, is a large chainsaw. His left hand is clawed with steel spikes. Grendel also has deadly hidden spikes in his very body. With these deadly instruments, he has taken the lives of many senshi.
Of course, the "demon" has other powers. He has the
ability to telekinetically control anything mechanical (cars,
microwaves) in a one block radius. However, he can only use this
ability if he is fully recovered. He also has the ability to release
deadly pheromones, which not only kills humans, but turns them
into zombies to do his bidding.
Grendel. No one knows where or when he originated. Some say he was created by some mad scientist, who had a thing against sailor senshi. Others say he was created by Chaos, as a last resort for Queen Serenity. Either way, people can agree: Grendel was one twisted, malicious, demented, and deadly force of nature.
Reports of the creature were first heard in late 1970's. After a woman found her small son missing, her daughter (who was really Sailor Libra, leader of the Zodiac Senshi) and her friends investigated the mysterious woods in their small American Midwestern town. Two days later, her daughter returned, in a tattered sailor fuku, babbling about a demon that had viciously slaughtered her friends. The traumatic event drove the girl insane, and she was placed in an asylum. Police investigated the grisly scene in the woods, but could find no evidence. However, they were shocked to discover that each dead girl wore a sailor fuku. The police wrote it off as a cult suicide.
Fifteen years later, the creature was reported to be in Tokyo, Japan. A regiment of senshi from surrounding galaxies joined forces to find and exterminate Grendel. Sadly, they would not succeed, as each heroine met with an inhuman death. Even the survivor, Sailor Stardreamer, was killed a year later in an unsolved murder.
21st Century. Now it is time for the creature to strike again.
