Alex originally lived in the Silver Millenium and was the oldest daughter to Queen Serenity. However, after she was born Serenity could feel the great power her daughter possessed and feared Alex would not be able to control it. When Princess Serenity was born a few years later Serenity could no longer take the risk of Alex losing control and sent her away to Earth.
On Earth the King and Queen took her in and raised her beside their son, Prince Endymion. It was Endymion who gave her the nick name Terra, which means Earth, because she loved the planet so much. When they grew up they came to find they held more for one another in their hearts than friendship but Endymion was already set to marry Serenity.
Alex became Sailor Universe when Luna came to Earth to ask for her help against Queen Beryl. In the final battle Alex lost her life fighting to save those of the people who abandoned her.
Although Queen Serenity did not send her to the future she was reborn anyway but with all of her memories intact. When she was old enough to leave the home she was born into she found the senshi only to find they did not have a single memory of her...not even Endymion. In Chibi Usa style to convinced Usagi's parents and brother that she was their older daughter and moved in; consequently she saw more of Mamoru, making Usagi insecure in her relationship with him. Alex, however, did not interfere with any of the senshi and was content enough to sit on the side lines and watch them be happy; until Sailor Andromeda and Sailor Sun came back. With them she was the leader of the Galactic Senshi and finally she entered back into the fighting.
The Senshi and Mamoru still do not remember any of them but every time Mamoru sees her, he feels as if he has known her his entire life and because of this becomes very close to her despite his feeling that he is betraying Usagi.

Universe Galactic Power, Make Up!- Transforms Alex into Sailor Universe.
Any and All the Other Sailor Senshi's Powers: She is Sailor Universe after all and can use any of the Senshi's powers she wishes but can not make them any more effective than if it had been the original Senshi using them.
Universe Sailor Planet Attack: Much like when the Inner Senshi use the "Sailor Planet Attack" only more powerful due to her energy going into it. She does this attack by crossing her arms in front of her and calling on all of the planetary powers. Once done she throws all of the energy at the enemy...most times not killing it right away.
Universe Tiara Attack: Same as Sailor Moon's tiara attack...and pretty much has the same effect.
Universe Time Bomb: Causes the enemy it is thrown at and all the surrounding people to be frozen in time and Universe is able to destroy the enemy with out interferance. She simply calls out the words and all those surrounding her are trapped in time until she lets them out.
Universe Meltdown: Never been used as it would destroy the world and everything with it. This power is only for times when the only way to defeat an enemy is to destroy the planet they are on and stop them from going any further.
